Bookery is a London-based company designing and making handmade stationery, accessories, book art and more recently, abstract paintings.
Set up in 2002, Bookery is run by Heather Weston who has Foundation in Art and Design from Central St Martins and an MA in Book Arts from Camberwell College of Arts, in London. Heather has taken that experience forward to create highly desirable notebooks, journals and book art and accessories utilising paper, leather and card. Paintings are a new, but central, addition to her creative output.
Heather Weston's Book Art, collected internationally, takes inspiration from her research work in the psychotherapy and psychiatry field, as well as building on her degree in Social and Political Science from Cambridge University.
Heather is the author of 'Bookcraft: Techniques for Binding, Folding, and Decorating to Create Books and More', 2008, Quarry Books.
Since 2022, Heather has shifted her main creative output to painting, with a focus on abstract acrylics. As with her book art, her subject matter is the human unconscious and its expression - the internal landscape. Some of these painting can be found on the 'Paintings' page.
